Experience grouping and ungrouping in the decimal number system with this interactive place value chart.

Interact with the chart by creating tokens and moving them around using your finger. Explore if it is always feasible to move these tokens.

Delete tokens by dragging them to the top of the chart or shake your iPad or iPhone to remove them all at once.

Some activities you can engage with using this place value chart:
<ul>
<li>How can you represent large numbers using the fewest tokens?</li>
<li>Is there a method to remove tokens efficiently without shaking the device?</li>
<li>What happens when a token is shifted from hundreds to ones? And what occurs if you relocate it first to the tens place and then to ones?</li>
</ul>

This updated version introduces new options for displaying totals, both numerically and in written English. Additionally, it now supports decimal fractions.

The educational design of this interactive place value chart was created by Professor Ulrich Kortenkamp (Didactics of Mathematics, University of Potsdam, Germany) and Professor Silke Ladel (Didactics of Primary Education, Mathematics, Saarland University, Germany). It aids in fostering mental concepts related to place values in decimal systems and caters to elementary, primary, and lower secondary education levels.
